Our Burma Bus is an RTP (Routing, Time and Payment) system that offers comfort and ease for bus users. We built it especially for the Yangon Bus System (YBS) in Yangon, Myanmar, focusing on routing support, time information, and payment-related features.
I was part of Team BURMA BUS at the GUSTO Innovation Awards & Forum, where our project won both the Winner's Award and People's Choice Award. This was my first competition win, and it became one of my most meaningful learning experiences in product building, teamwork, communication, presentation, marketing, and problem-solving.
I contributed to both front-end and back-end development using Flutter and Firebase, including authentication, cloud data handling, navigation flow, location-based features, payment-related screens, local notifications, and chat-based assistance.
I created the design direction for BURMA BUS, including the logo, UI/UX design, and graphic designs for promotional social media posts.
I led marketing work such as ad shooting, video creation, content creation, and social media page management. I also served as the main presenter for both the semi-presentation and final presentation.
Before the final event, we completed 2 months of training and then spent around 8 months developing the idea together like a real product team. I also helped coordinate meetups, support team communication, and keep the team spirit positive throughout the project.
One major challenge was getting the app to run properly on both the emulator and physical devices. I played a key role in troubleshooting and resolving this issue so the team could continue testing and preparing the final demo.
BURMA BUS was developed as a Flutter mobile application with Firebase-backed account and cloud data features, route/location functionality, notifications, payment-related flows, and chat-based assistance.

Our mission is to empower Yangon commuters by providing smart routing recommendations, accurate real-time bus arrival information, and a seamless, secure payment solution, enhancing convenience, saving time, and reducing travel uncertainty..
Our workflow moved from identifying real commuter problems and shaping product requirements to UI design, feature planning, implementation, integration, testing, and final presentation. Through this process, I learned how technical decisions, user experience, marketing, and teamwork all connect when turning an idea into a usable product.
This achievement was never about one person. Every discussion, challenge, improvement, and late working session became part of something unforgettable. I am sincerely grateful to my teammates for their trust, effort, and commitment throughout the journey.
