Project Overview
This research explored whether AI chatbot tools, such as ChatGPT-style assistants, can support students' independent study habits. The study focused on GUSTO students who use AI-driven chatbot tools and examined how these tools affect study efficiency, focus, concept explanation, and learning confidence.
The project followed a full research lifecycle from proposal and timeline planning to literature review, survey-based primary research, data analysis, poster creation, and reflection.
My Role
- Individual project: I completed the research planning, data collection, analysis, writing, and presentation work.
- Designed the survey and analysed responses from more than 40 targeted participants.
- Prepared the proposal, secondary research report, primary research paper, poster, timeline, and reflection report.
Research Methodology
Applied the research onion model with pragmatism, deductive reasoning, mixed methods, cross-sectional study design, survey collection, and data analysis.
Survey Analysis
Analysed student responses about study efficiency, focus, study duration, concept explanation, and personal experiences using AI chatbot tools.
Key Insight
Survey results suggested that many students experienced improved study efficiency, better focus, and stronger concept understanding through AI chatbot support.
